Privacy

The short version: this site collects an email address if you choose to give one, records what you typed into a calculator only if you ask for the result by email, and uses analytics that do not set cookies or identify you.

What is collected

If you use a calculator

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent anywhere and nobody sees them, unless you ask for the result by email.

If you do ask for the result, we receive your email address along with the figures the calculator produced, so the email we send can contain your actual numbers rather than a generic template.

If you join the mailing list

We store your email address, the page you signed up from, and which tool or resource prompted it. That is used to make what we send you relevant rather than generic.

We use double opt-in, so nothing is sent until you confirm your address by clicking a link. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal data or track you across sites. We can see that a page was viewed and that a calculator was used. We cannot see who did it.

This is a deliberate choice. It means the site does not need a cookie banner, and you can use the tools without agreeing to anything first.

Legal basis

Marketing emails are sent on the basis of your consent, given when you confirm your address. An email containing a calculator result you specifically asked for is sent to fulfil that request.

Who else sees it

Email addresses are stored in Brevo, which handles delivery on our behalf. The site is hosted by Vercel. Neither uses your data for their own purposes.

How long it is kept

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal. Calculator figures attached to a contact record are kept alongside it for the same period, and are deleted with it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being used for marketing. Email sam@leithenlane.com and it will be dealt with. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
